TIPS ON HOW TO GET THE MOST
OUT OF IMPLIED REGURGITATION.
(or DO WHAT THOU WILST...)
Keep It Horizontal |
"I threw up." stickers were designed to work like cartoon speech bubbles (the bubbles of text used to represent words coming from speaking characters).
It is very common to find speech bubbles placed so that the text always reads straight across horizontally, which makes it easy to read. It often helps make the sticker look like part of the original design of the target image.
It's sometimes hard to do this when placing stickers hastily, but practice makes perfect!
Here's an example of what we'd consider to be poor placement.

Choose A Target Image |
These stickers work best when they are used in conjunction with some kind of target image.
Requirements are few, but proper targets usually have a mouth, or some kind of implied ability to speak or transfer speech in some way. Examples include: people, animals, personified inanimate objects, telephones, walkie-talkies, bullhorns, etc.
Be sure that the pointed end of the speech bubble points to the implied source of speech.
See the images on the gallery page for examples of good target images and placement. |
Don't piss people off! |
Please use common sense and good judgement when using these stickers.
It's not wise to stick them on other people's personal property without their consent.
Don't alter your mother's prized Virgin Mary painting without asking first.
These stickers are printed on weather-proof vinyl. This means that they'll last for a good while after you apply them indoors or outdoors. If you apply them to a non-porous surface (like glass, metal, plastic, etc.), then you can usually remove them easily
by slowly peeling from the edge (especially soon after you first apply the sticker).
Remember this when applying stickers to street signs, windows, cars, etc. This gives you the option to remove it after taking a photo of your altered target. If you're having trouble removing the sticker, try heating it up a little with a hair dryer. This will weaken the glue.
Be careful applying these to porous materials such as paper, wood, etc.
They'll be much harder to remove without damaging the original surface. |
